Sucks to find out why we pay writers, and why technical writing is a course in uni. It is scientifcally proven that writing more than two sentences is physically impossible. Books are a hoax and never existed.
Still, I do find it relaxing, sitting on a desk with a cup of something hot, looking outside the window into the nightsky, typing away at something of my own creation

The backend is a mess. There's a folder full of markdown pages, and a python script that compiles the markdown files into html and emits them into the public directory. I get to preview them with a local server before pushing them to server. I just did pip install markdown
and used whatever that got me, because compiling markdown is impossible.
Honestly, my setup isn't that bad, and I do like the feeling of telling others that I own a site and actually know how it's done. But I can see why Wordpress and other blogging websites are popular. No one wants to run a server and deal with the horribleness that goes on on a webmaster's work directory.
Fun fact: Yahoo says don't include the period in links. At least according to this dude on stack exchange.
